HORNBACH

HORNBACH’s spring campaign was warned people to look after their plants, and showed what those plants might get up to if they’re not cared for. They might leave your garden, steal your car, start street races, crash into cardboard boxes, throw up leaves in dark alleys, or pick up a hitchhiking shrub on their journey to the one place that can provide them with everything they need: HORNBACH, the European DIY and gardening superstore. So Come to HORNBACH before your Garden does.

BACKGROUND

Gardens are bliss, but keeping every plant alive is hard work. How do you remind people to look after their plants without sounding patronising?

IDEA

Turn neglected plants into outlaws. Five wilting plants abandon their garden, hijack a car and go on a chaotic joyride to HORNBACH. Come to HORNBACH before your garden does.

EXECUTION

Puppeteered plant models, each with its own backstory, shot entirely in camera. The 134-second film ran on TV, social and DOOH, in full length in cinemas and during the German Oscars telecast.
